John Mesko was raised on a diversified family farm in East Central Minnesota. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy and a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics, John embarked on a 13-year career with Industrial Agriculture giants, including Terra International, Dow Chemical, and Purdue University. Through many experiences he concluded that the organizations he was working for were actually working against the farmer, the consumer and creation. Unable to continue with a clear conscience, John and his family left behind the trappings of "big ag" in the spring of 2006, and returned to Minnesota to purchase the family farm and begin building an Authentic Agriculture, rather than contributing to the decline of food and food production.

In addition to writing and speaking to groups about the folly of the industrial food system and a Biblical worldview of agriculture, John and his family now own and operate Lighthouse Farm, raising high quality beef, pork and lamb, and helping others to realize their agrarian dreams.
